Here’s more about us: We are growing to a team of 30 sworn officers that work 12-hour patrol shifts (6AM-6PM, 6PM-6AM) with every other weekend off. In addition to patrol, we are committed to growth and career enrichment opportunities for our officers, which include: grant funded TZD/traffic enforcement details, SWAT positions (tactical and negotiator), investigations, membership on the county Violence Crime Enforcement Team (VCET), training instructor (firearms, defensive tactics, FTO), Reserve Coordinator, Community Engagement Team with creative opportunities in our social media and outreach programs. We value the contributions of our new people beginning on day one and are committed to your success. We have a mentorship program to promote a smooth and supportive transition to our team, and most important: we get along! And not just internally, we get along with our fire department, our public works department, our municipal liquor employees, our City Council and city staff. $5,000 for New Officers
$10,000 for Lateral Officers
Some benefits include: Three years to top-step salary - Service credit for lateral moves Encouragement of professional development in areas of interest Total of 12 paid holidays per year. Free single health coverage and $25,000 Life Insurance policy, and EAP program. $1,100 yearly uniform allotment. 176 hours of PTO annually years one through five. Workout while on duty in the City's weight room. Regular Mental Health and Wellness support with regular check ins, department paid access to mental health professionals and an internal chaplain program. Optional benefits: HSA, Dental, Long Term Disability, Additional Life coverage, Deferred Compensation, Entry Level and Experienced Officers
Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in law enforcement or related field. Be eligible to be P.O.S.T licensed. Possess a valid and unrestricted Driver's License. Successfully pass a background investigation and complete a one-year probationary period. Hold an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certificate or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
Salary Range:
