The City of East Grand Forks is accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Police Officer.
The East Grand Forks Police Department has 23 sworn officers, and our Patrol schedule consists of 12-hour shifts with every other weekend off (5 days off in a row on your weekend off). Upon completion of probation, officers are eligible for a variety of career opportunities including positions with the Grand Forks Regional Special Operations Group (SWAT, Crisis Negotiations, Bomb Squad, Water Rescue and UAS). The EGFPD also has an SRO, K-9 Program, Bike Patrol, Drug Recognition Expert, Drug Task Force and other opportunities. Regular overtime opportunities are available.

Qualifications
Must possess a valid driver’s license and be licensed or eligible to be licensed by the MN POST Board by your date of hire. Out of state officers should go to the MN POST Board website for information on the reciprocity process. https://dps.mn.gov/entity/post/Pages/default.aspx Hiring Bonus: The City of East Grand Forks is offering a Hiring Bonus of $5,000.00. This bonus will be paid out in two parts. $2,500.00 on the new officer’s first paycheck and an additional $2,500.00 upon the completion of the Field Training Program. In addition, new officers who move to East Grand Forks from greater than 50 miles away are eligible for up to $2,500.00 in moving expenses (based upon actual expenses).Benefits: The City offers an excellent benefit package including 13 paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, health and life insurance, retirement plan and flexible benefits plans or health savings accounts (which includes a $2,800.00 city contribution). All uniforms and equipment are provided except footwear. $240.00 annual equipment allowance provided..
