Position Highlights

The Sarver Cardiovascular Research Center at the University of Arizona is seeking highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associates. The ideal candidates will possess a doctoral degree (PhD or MD) and have a strong background in molecular biology and physiology. There are three major projects in the lab: 1) studying the role of various cellular proteins in cardiac, immune and cancer metabolism, 2) role of mRNA-binding proteins in cell regeneration, and 3) characterization of cellular and mitochondrial iron homeostasis. Using mouse models, histology, cell culture, differential expression analyses, and molecular biology assays, our lab studies the molecular mechanisms that regulate metabolic processes and iron homeostasis both in the cytoplasm and mitochondria.

In addition to their own project/experimental procedures, the Postdoctoral Research Associates are required to work with other lab members and assist with their own projects. The primary purpose of this appointment is to engage in advanced research training. The Postdoctoral Research Associates will focus on contributing to the research initiatives of the department under the principal investigator/mentor's mentorship and interaction with collaborators.

Outstanding UA benefits include health, dental, vision, and life insurance; paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays; UA/ASU/NAU tuition reduction for the employee and qualified family members; access to UA recreation and cultural activities; and more!

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University’s campuses. These reports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures. Paper copies of the Reports can be obtained by contacting the University Compliance Office at cleryact@arizona.edu.
