Overview Postdoctoral Research Associate I - III, Sarver Cardiovascular Research Center. Posting Number req24038. Department: Sarver Heart Center. The Sarver Cardiovascular Research Center seeks highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associates with a doctoral degree (PhD or MD) and strong background in molecular biology and physiology. The lab focuses on: 1) roles of cellular proteins in cardiac, immune and cancer metabolism; 2) roles of mRNA-binding proteins in cell regeneration; 3) characterization of cellular and mitochondrial iron homeostasis. Using mouse models, histology, cell culture, differential expression analyses, and molecular biology assays, the lab studies molecular mechanisms regulating metabolic processes and iron homeostasis in cytoplasm and mitochondria.

Responsibilities

Develop research projects and perform experiments within the Sarver Cardiovascular Research Center.

Train and supervise intern, undergraduate, medical, and graduate student lab members.

Work as a member of the principal investigator's research team and contribute novel hypotheses, ideas, and develop novel methodologies.

Contribute to authorship of research publications and presentations.

Collect, analyze and graph data; conclude research projects in a timely manner; write reports and manuscripts.

Engage in career development activities, apply for dedicated funding and contribute to lab-based grant proposals.

Minimum Qualifications

PhD or MD conferred by the start date and 0-3 years of experience at Postdoctoral rank.
