The City of Gig Harbor is excited to open a recruitment opportunity for Entry-Level Police Officers! We will be accepting test scores through December 31, 2025, and encourage you to complete your testing by September 15 to be considered for the first round of oral boards in late September. Monthly oral boards will continue through December, with invitations extended to top-ranked candidates.

The following are automatic and potential disqualifiers. Applicants should not apply to our agency if they indicate any of the automatic disqualifiers. Potential disqualifiers will be considered on a case by case basis. Category: Driving Automatic

Any DUI conviction or deferred prosecution for an alcohol or drug related driving offense within preceding 10 years. Automatic

Any other traffic conviction (Reckless Driving, Suspended License, etc.) within preceding three years. Potential Applicant must possess a current, non-probationary, and non-restricted valid driver’s license. History of restrictions on license or driving record due to vehicle operation or control will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Upon hire, must possess a Washington State driver’s license and maintain such licensure during employment.
