The Department of Architecture at Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant OR Associate Professor of Architecture in the field of Technology with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine-month contracted position. Responsibilities of the successful candidate will be to Deliver high-quality instruction in architecture courses at the undergraduate level, including architecture studio, and at least one in the following areas of specialization:

Environmental Systems & Building Performance Digital Architecture, Computational Design, Fabrication Material Innovation Robotic Construction

Engage in significant research, scholarship, and/or creative activities in an area of specialization. Faculty members are expected to develop and sustain a robust research agenda that contributes to the advancement of knowledge and practice in their chosen field. Participate in department, college, and/or university service. Collaborate with students and colleagues and contribute to a positive and productive academic environment. Required Qualifications An earned Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Architecture or a closely related discipline. OR A terminal Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Architecture (M.Arch) or a closely related discipline AND Professional Architectural Registration AND Record of past teaching in Architecture Studio in an area of specialization Demonstrated evidence of scholarship and/or creative activities Additional (required) qualifications to be considered for an Associate Professor position: Demonstrated record of research capability including publications and external grants An established body of research including external funding record and academic background and appropriate credentials to be hired as a tenure track Associate Professor Preferred Qualifications We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Focus on sustainable design, building systems integration, and the optimization of energy and environmental performance in architectural projects. Specialization in the use of digital tools, computational methods, and advanced fabrication techniques to explore innovative architectural design processes.

Research and development in new materials, sustainable alternatives, and advanced material applications that push the boundaries of architectural design and construction. Robotic Construction

Exploration and implementation of robotic technologies in the construction process, including automation, robotics-driven fabrication, and the future of building technology.

Department Information The Department of Architecture advances the design sciences and their capacities for high-impact, performance-driven, and real-world transformations. Situated within the College of Architecture and Construction Management, the department offers the Bachelor of Architecture program, a 5-year, NAAB-accredited professional, and STEM-designated degree that meets general education requirements leading to architecture licensure. The program centers on studio sequences that proceed from fundamentals of architectural design, through technical aspects of building and comprehensive design, to investigations of complex urban conditions. The studios are reinforced with sequences in design communication, architectural culture and theory, structures, environmental technology, and professional practice. The program culminates in a Fifth-Year Thesis that engages critical research and architectural design, which collectively provides a holistic understanding of design processes necessary to create well-designed and meaningful architecture.
