The University of North Georgia is seeking applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor beginning Fall 2026. We are seeking faculty with expertise in social studies education or structured literacy for grades 6-12. This is a 10-month, tenure-track position. Summer teaching is possible but not guaranteed. Responsibilities
Teach specified courses, prepare course materials, provide support and guidance to students through advising, and foster professional relationships with public school partners. Maintain records pertinent to accreditation and participate in collaborative meetings with faculty and leadership relative to programmatic decisions and improvements. Contribute to a collaborative curriculum development model. General faculty responsibilities in the department include: Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses face-to-face, hybrid or online Advise students Maintain an active program of research/scholarly activity and publications in area of specialization Provide service to the department, college, university, public schools, and professional community Maintain an on-campus presence through participation in classes, meetings, and events Participate in program review, program assessment, and accreditation activities Qualifications
Required
Doctorate in middle or secondary education, or a closely related field Three years teaching experience Experience using and modeling technology in educational settings Successful experience teaching in online environments Preferred
Experience teaching courses at the college level Record of scholarly activity Expertise in: Social studies education or structured literacy for middle/secondary education Development of high-quality digital learning experiences Inclusion of AI as an instructional tool Required Documents
