Post Doctoral Scholar - Biological Chemistry & Pharmacology. Post Doctoral Researcher to pursue education and experience in research under the supervision of designated faculty in the Department of Biological Chemistry and Pharmacology at The Ohio State University, for a period generally not to exceed three years. The general research focus is to develop Adeno-associated virus (AAV) vectors to treat various diseases such as ocular blindness, and to study basic biology and virus host interaction. A major focus is vector engineering to enable more effective, safer, and regulatable gene delivery. Projects are designed with strong translational potential and the promise of significant clinical impact. Responsibilities
Perform basic science and applied research in the field of gene therapy with considerable scope and complexity. Identify and select problems to be studied in agreement with the Principal Investigator. Plan and perform complex experiments and procedures; coordinate, collect, and analyze data. Prepare research results for publication in reports, papers, journals, books, presentations, and other media; prepare seminars, talks, and lectures. Supervise assigned research staff and students; assist with laboratory techniques and operate laboratory equipment; perform basic lab maintenance and maintain lab supplies. Other duties as assigned related to the laboratory and project objectives. Qualifications
