Overview
DoubleTree by the Galleria, is looking for an experienced banquet captain to oversee set up and servicing of catering and meeting events. If you are passionate about delivering authentic and genuine guest service, submit your resume to apply!
Required Skills and Abilities
At least two to three (2-3) years of banquet captain experience required
Ability to work a flexible schedule including AM, PM shifts, weekends and holidays
Extensive knowledge of Food and Beverage and banquet etiquette
Strong interpersonal skills to assess client needs and resolve concerns with events
Able to stand on feet for long periods of time and carry, push and pull at least 25 pounds
Job Description
Attend banquet event order meetings, review banquet event orders and ensure meeting space is neat and clean and event set up is accurate and completely followed.
Supervise banquet housepersons and banquet servers to ensure event set up is correct and events are successful.
Coordinate with culinary team to ensure service of food is on time.
Communicate all banquet event order changes to catering sales and affected departments.
Operate as a banquet server; setting-up, greeting and serving the guest and breaking-down the function.
Inspect banquet areas at end of function to ensure all equipment is returned to its proper area and all areas are clean.
