Overview
The EHS / Safety Coordinator will play a crucial role in promoting and maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible workplace for all employees, drive continuous improvement in EHS practices, and support a Lean manufacturing environment. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field. Must be able to work On-site in Milwaukee, WI In-depth understanding of environmental, health, and safety regulations and practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and educate employees at all levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying potential risks. Proficiency in interpreting and applying regulatory standards to ensure compliance. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and influence positive behavioral changes. Experience with incident investigation techniques and root cause analysis. Technical knowledge and understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes, concepts, and methodologies. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Lean / Manufacturing industry expertise. Professional certifications in EHS (e.g., CSP, CHMM, CIH) and OSHA. At least three years of experience in EHS roles, with progressive responsibilities. Prior experience in coordinating EHS programs and initiatives. Familiarity with relevant software applications for data management and reporting. Responsibilities
Work safely and courteously, adhering to all Company policies and procedures. Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as industry best practices. Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken in a timely manner. Lead safety training sessions for employees, educating them on proper safety protocols, emergency procedures, and the use of protective equipment. Investigate and analyze workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and provide recommendations for preventative measures. Manage hazardous waste disposal processes in accordance with applicable regulations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement effective emergency response plans. Maintain accurate records of EHS activities, incidents, and training sessions. Stay current with changes in EHS regulations and ensure organizational compliance. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in EHS performance and drive initiatives to enhance workplace safety and environmental stewardship. Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies, communicating and coordinating inspections, reports, and permits as necessary. Participate in EHS audits and assessments, addressing any non-compliance issues and implementing corrective actions. Stay updated with best practices to continuously enhance EHS knowledge and skills.
