Position
Journeyman Plumber Location: Chicago, IL Shift: Sunday - Thursday 6:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m Overview
We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Plumber with a comprehensive understanding of plumbing systems including domestic water and related devices, sanitary waste systems, and high and low-pressure steam systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently troubleshoot and perform maintenance and construction tasks. As a Journeyman Plumber, you will adhere to JLL policies and procedures as well as the Rush mission, vision, and values in accordance with Rush Policy and Procedures. Responsibilities
Repairing and installing various types of plumbing pipes and devices in compliance with the plumbing code. Proficiency in rodding all types of waste and drain lines, as well as repairing kitchen equipment. Installing new and used equipment including faucets, lavatories, toilets, flush valves, sinks, drinking fountains, and domestic water heaters (either steam, electric, or gas-fired). Installing, repairing, and adjusting various types and styles of steam stations. Operating appropriate construction tools and equipment. Cutting, flanging, and threading different pipe types, such as stainless steel, PVC, galvanized, black, and copper. Sweat soldering copper pipe and fittings using soft solder. Applying various types and sizes of fittings and valves to construct anti-siphon devices, medical air systems, and repair room med gas outlets. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge: Familiarity with high and low-pressure steam systems. Understanding of building plumbing systems. Knowledge of pumping and fire system protection systems. Familiarity with all types of pumps. Proficiency in using computer maintenance systems and associated devices, such as tablets. Understanding of medical gas systems and maintenance. Skills: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, service manuals, and instructions to complete work assignments. Working knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, laws, and regulations applicable to the trade. Abilities: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Physical strength and dexterity to perform job assignments. Ability to lift objects and devices weighing between 20-50 lbs. Disclaimer
