The Research Support Specialist will work primarily as a clinical research coordinator for a NIH‑funded clinical trial comparing a Virtual Reality‑based treatment for dog, snake, and spider phobias to traditional telehealth‑based treatment. The trial will be conducted in the Innovation in Mental Health (iMH) Lab in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences under the supervision of Dr. Brian Bunnell, PhD. This position is time‑limited.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Communicating study details to potential participants; coordinating recruitment efforts; providing informed consent; scheduling weekly therapy sessions; coordinating with study therapists; setting up and updating VR headsets; ensuring protocol fidelity; maintaining human subjects protection standards.

Collecting data via standardized protocols; entering data into databases; maintaining study logs; monitoring participant progress; communicating progress with PI.

Assisting with drafting and revising IRB study protocols; drafting SOP and training manuals; producing summary graphs and tables; conducting literature searches.

Other research duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience in office or administrative support or in research support. College education may substitute for required experience on a year‑for‑year basis.

Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications

Intermediate skill in general day‑to‑day tasks and organization on computers.

Skill in phone and email communication, organization, and problem solving.
