Comfort with using technology to track student progress and prepare documentation is advantageous. TITLE:

Early Childhood Teacher QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree in Elementary or Early Childhood Education. Current Type T Alaska teaching certificate Experience with 3-5 year olds and/or early primary grades. Commitment to a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Ability to be creative. Ability to train, supervise and effectively use paraprofessional staff. Patience and commitment to development of a new program. Capable of being a positive team member. Familiarity with bilingual, bicultural students. Knowledge of and experience in rural Alaska preferred. Knowledge of developmental stages, learning appropriate to 3-5 year olds ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assists paraprofessionals in the ECE program. Demonstrates student achievement and is responsible for student learning. Works a full day in accordance with state/federal and negotiated policies. Develops detailed lesson plans. Keeps accurate, current records of student achievement, attendance and program evaluation. Meets health and safety standards in accordance with state laws. Is responsible for handling discipline problems. Develops and locates materials needed for teaching lessons. Administers and scores tests for the purpose of evaluation of the educational program and pupil progress. Refers students for physical, mental, social, and educational services not provided in a regular, self-contained classroom. Is responsible for the development of yearly goals for students and program. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. SALARY:
