High School CTE IT/ Computer Science Teacher position with online learning responsibilities at Pine Springs Preparatory Virtual Academy (PSPVA). North Carolina Teaching Certification Required. Must have a Technology Education, Information Technology or Vocational Business endorsement. Responsibilities
Provides rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students Commitment to personalizing learning for all students Demonstrates belief in all students’ ability to succeed and meet high expectations Differentiates instruction based on student level of mastery Augments course content according to policies and procedures using appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under guidance from principal and coach Maintains grade book, makes student placement and promotion decisions, and alerts administrators to concerns about student performance and progress Prepares students for high stakes standardized tests Establishes and maintains positive rapport with families and regularly communicates with students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner Supports learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional issues, and basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom environment aligned with academy policies Maintains and applies knowledge of State, National, and Industry Standards Develops instructional tools and strategies to supplement and enhance provided curriculum Collaborates with the school and national professional learning community Administers and proctors certification assessments where applicable Serves as an Advisor for Career & Technical Student Organization Supports Program Coordinator/school with creating business and industry partnerships for work-based learning Supports a project-based learning model Ability to travel up to 20% of the time for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree Active state teaching license Ability to clear required background check Other Required Qualifications
Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and use student data to drive instructional decisions Receptive to coaching regularly with administrators and teacher trainers Ability to embrace change to ensure excellent student outcomes Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms Maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs and curriculum Desired Qualifications
Experience with the target age group Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology Experience teaching in online and/or brick-and-mortar environments Experience with online learning platforms Compensation & Benefits
