The Teacher is a highly qualified, state-certified educator responsible for delivering specific course content in an online environment. Teachers provide instruction, support, and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students’ individual needs. Teachers monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system. They work closely with students and parents/learning coaches to advance each student’s learning toward established goals. Teachers typically work from home but must travel occasionally for school functions such as state testing.

The mission of NCVA is to provide an exemplary, individualized, and engaging educational experience through school and community/family partnerships, a rigorous curriculum, and a data-driven, student-centered instructional model. Success will be measured by assessment data, parent and student satisfaction, and institutional growth.

This is a full-time position requiring the ability to work independently for 40+ hours per week, typically during standard school hours, and maintain a professional home office environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provides engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences

Personalizes learning for all students

Believes in all students’ ability to succeed and meets high expectations

Differentiates instruction based on student mastery

Uses appropriate tools to augment course content under guidance

Maintains grade book, makes placement and promotion decisions, and alerts administrators to concerns

Prepares students for standardized tests

Establishes positive rapport with families and communicates regularly

Supports learning coaches/parents with instructional issues and troubleshooting

Travels approximately once per month or 20% of the time for professional development and testing

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

Active state teaching license

Ability to pass required background checks

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with the target age group

Experience with online learning platforms and supporting technology use

Experience teaching online or in traditional settings

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Ability to adapt to new technologies and maintain certification

Compensation & Benefits:

Salaries are determined based on education, experience, qualifications, work location, travel requirements, and market factors. Offers are typically in the lower half of the salary range.
