Overview
The Production Department Supervisor is responsible for supervising as many as 30+ production workers, food and packaging materials and equipment, data entry and record keeping; enforcing company guidelines and policies, training and coaching, and other aspects of running an efficient food production facility.
Responsibilities
Train, enforce and adhere to company human safety policies and procedures.
Train, enforce and adhere to company food safety, quality and regulatory practices and procedures, including GMPs.
Train, mentor and coach staff for set-up and operation of assigned department machine(s) to ensure finished product meets all customer and regulatory requirements.
Clean and sanitize equipment during changeovers from one product to another; inspect equipment prior to line start-up and changeovers when needed.
Take ownership of department results.
Maintain accurate and legible records/documentation.
Direct and motivate staff for efficient and safe operation of all equipment on lines.
Communicate with coworkers including maintenance and quality staff to ensure optimal production goals are met.
Assist other departments as needed and perform related duties as assigned.
Must attend all company required training.
Qualifications
Minimum of high school diploma or GED
Must be 18 years or older
Must have at least 3 years machine operator experience in a fast paced food manufacturing environment
Knowledge of manufacturing specifications and quality standards
Familiarity with HACCP, GMPs, Allergens and Personal Protective Equipment
Abilities
Maintain respectful communication with coworkers at all levels within the organization.
Ability to problem-solve equipment and processes in partnership with maintenance.
Ability to determine root causes for mistakes/concerns and diligently apply corrective action.
Ability to read and write English; Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.
Basic math skills.
Basic computer skills.
Working Conditions This position requires working on the concrete production floor; requires the ability to follow GMP guidelines when entering our production facility which is a fast paced manufacturing environment that may include exposure to warm/cold temperatures and noise levels exceeding 85 dB.

Perform repetitive tasks
Bend, stoop, kneel and climb ladders/stairs
Push/pull up to 2200 lbs of raw materials on a pallet with a pallet jack
Slide barrels of up to 600 lbs of ingredients from pallets to conveyors
Reach, lift, stack or maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights
Potential allergens exposure to: Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Wheat, Soy, Milk and Eggs
Ability to use GMP & PPE appropriately (hairnets, smocks, gloves, etc.)
