Responsibilities/Duties:
Planting, harvesting, and processing tobacco; transplanting; loading counts; topping; suckering; weeding; entering data. General farm duties include mowing grass, cleaning yards, cleaning buildings, painting, and repairing water lines.

Position Summary:
Perform general farm maintenance and assist other researchers in peanut and vegetable research. Specific tobacco duties include transplanting, making counts, topping and suckering, weeding, harvesting tobacco leaves, loading and unloading curing barns, weighing cured leaf samples, grinding cured leaf samples, and entering data. General farm duties include mowing grass, cleaning yards, cleaning buildings, painting, and repairing water lines.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma is preferred.
Physical Demands:
Working outdoors, bending, lifting, digging, walking. Some activities performed during extreme weather conditions.
Background Investigation Policy:
Offers of employment are contingent upon completion of a background investigation, including a criminal background check, a review of credentials and employment history, and, if applicable, a satisfactory credit check. Applicants may also be subject to a pre‑employment drug test for positions with high‑risk responsibilities.
