Position Summary The Head Girls Varsity Basketball Coach is responsible for creating and supporting various aspects of the Basketball program, such as program development, training, and coaching team members. The coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by The Cambridge School of Dallas. Cambridge is a member of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Conference (TAPPS).
Job Duties
Encourages, trains, and coaches the participants within the program.
Helps organize practice sessions.
Represents The Cambridge School of Dallas and the Basketball and athletic program in a professional manner and within the bounds of good sportsmanship.
Minimum Educational Background High School Diploma; must be 18 years of age or older.
Previous Related Experience Coaching experience required; TAPPS experience preferred, but not required.
Expectations/Requirements For Successful Performance
Possesses basketball/coaching experience.
Enjoys coaching and working with children.
Has reliable transportation and can comply with the Cambridge Fleet Policy which includes a valid driver’s license, valid proof of insurance, and participation in driver safety training provided by the school.
Possesses a positive attitude and can share a passion of basketball and Christ with students.
Maintains a strong commitment to the student-athlete concept.
Displays effective leadership, coaching and communication skills.
Maintains good communication skills with players, parents, and the athletic department, potentially utilizing Blackbaud as a means of communication among other technologies.
Working Conditions
Part-time; early Fall/Winter season; Monday–Friday with occasional Saturday.
On- and off-campus responsibilities.
Predominant practice times at around 5:30 AM or 3:30 PM and games between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Coaching responsibilities may require extended weekday/weekend commitments for games, including travel.
Requires frequent physical activity, including standing, kneeling, crouching, bending, exercising, and driving.
