Overview Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the group of Prof. Aditya Sood, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and the Princeton Materials Institute at Princeton University. Research areas include ultrafast science, nanoscale thermal transport, and microelectronics, with applications in energy-efficient computing, thermal management, and energy conversion.

Responsibilities

Design, assemble, and align ultrafast time-resolved optical setups.

Integrate optical setups with measurement electronics for data acquisition.

Conduct ultrafast experiments and analyze results, contributing to independent research projects and collaboration with junior lab members.

Lead and mentor lab members as appropriate; maintain a strong publication record demonstrating technical writing skills.

Qualifications

PhD in materials science, physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related fields (or expect to obtain soon).

Strong expertise in building and conducting ultrafast time-resolved optical experiments.

Key skills include designing, assembling, and aligning ultrafast optical setups and integrating with data acquisition systems.

Experience in nonlinear optics (e.g., optical parametric amplifiers), electrical switching, high-frequency electronics, thermal transport physics, or beamline experiments is beneficial but not required.

Excellent communication, teamwork, and mentorship abilities.

Salary and Benefits Expected Salary Range: $65,000–$70,000

The posted salary range represents a good faith estimate for a full-time position; salaries for part-time positions are pro-rated accordingly.
