This role will be located at our Loveland, Ohio facility. This Principal AM Engineer is a dynamic position whose function is to work with a cross-functional team to develop metal 3D printing processes for the Binderjet printing process. The expectation includes expert knowledge of software and industrial controls, material and process for binder and powder development, piezo printhead control and waveform development, fluid dynamics, pumps, and filtration process, flowability, spreading/wetting physics of powder, and drying and thermal relationship in the debind and sinter process. Additionally, this role will be a key contributor and contact for our University and National Labs support for the organization. Come Join Us! The Principal AM responsibilities include the following: Serve as Metal Binderjet technical expert for the company Develop Binderjet material-specific recipes for the whole value stream of the process Create and manage all technical documentation for the full value stream Develop technical production readiness for Binderjet Technology Lead external research and development programs contributing to improved machines and processes for aerospace-focused applications in binderjet technology Main Qualifications: Master’s degree in Physics, Metallurgy, or Materials Engineering 5-8 years of hands-on full system or subsystem development Deep hands-on experience with characterizing machines, materials, and processes Ability to translate theory to requirements and executional examples in a rapid innovation cycle Preferred Qualifications: PhD in Physics, Metallurgy, or Materials Engineering 8-10 years of systems experience in industry or research labs Deep hands-on experience with characterizing machines, materials, and processes Ability to translate theory to requirements and executional examples in a rapid innovation cycle 3-5 years of project management expertise Working knowledge of other AM modalities: LPBF, EBM, DED Working knowledge of Investment Casting Process Interpersonal Skills: Roll-up sleeve attitude and methodical approach Teamwork centric with strong oral and writing communication skills Interest in lab work and lab environment Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity Passion for Additive Manufacturing If this sounds like you, please submit an application with your resume.
