Principal Tool Engineer

to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting the

Clearfield, UT area. The

Principal Tool Engineer

will be part of our Tool Integration & Offload (TI&O) team and will perform project management-type duties, including acting as a liaison between our tool design and manufacturing engineering groups to integrate new tooling in support of composite part fabrication. The ideal candidate for this role will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, diverse assignments, and collaborating with internal and external customers. Onsite presence is required due to the nature of the role. Essential Functions / Responsibilities: Coordination of design and fabrication requirements for tools and fixtures with customers, both internal and external

Coordinate/develop & execute test plans

Performing tolerance analysis to ensure form/fit/function

Conduct root cause failure investigations and implement associated corrective actions

Develop & evaluate process improvements

Assist Product Development Team with new product designs to ensure manufacturability, validate process/technology.

Managing all phases of project: design, document, fabricate, assemble, and validate

Create 3D models and 2D drawings to be used in the manufacturing of new tooling, to support the production

Interface with review team to assure customer satisfaction with design

Work alongside the manufacturing team to ensure overall program quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved

Review engineering drawings and designs for manufacturability

Support vendors as needed during fabrication

Basic Qualifications: Level 2: Bachelor of Science in a STEM related field with 2 years of experience in engineering, design, tooling, fabrication, or manufacturing/production environment

Experience utilizing Siemens NX/CATIA CAD tools or applicable 3D CAD systems

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance within a reasonable timeframe as required by the business.

Level 3: Bachelor of Science in a STEM related field with 5 years of experience in engineering, design, tooling, fabrication, or manufacturing/production environment; OR Masters’ Degree with 3 years of experience OR PHD with 1 year experience.

Experience utilizing Siemens NX/CATIA CAD tools or applicable 3D CAD systems

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance within a reasonable timeframe as required by the business.

Preferred Qualifications: Active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment
