Overview
This position is responsible for planning, prioritization and scheduling of all maintenance work generated from work requests in CMMS. The planning function includes, scope of work, ensure parts are on hand, job plan for preventive work as well as routine maintenance work and planning shut down and outage work. Primary Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Verify work submitted as service request or waiting assignment in CMMS and determine scope of work that includes: the work to be done; the craft (electrical, mechanical, etc) services needed; the need for a contractor to complete the work; the length of time the work/repair will take; confirm tools and parts needed and order; prioritize the work to be performed and determine job scope (Capex, CM, PM, EM); coordinate downtime with Operation Departments. Develops PMs and monitors for updating regularly Monitor work orders and update CMMS with input from techs, checking downtime load Works with management team to accomplish all tasks in a timely and safe manner Learns plant processes and procedures for start-up, shut down and operations to better understand how equipment is utilized Notifies Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Manager of any production, maintenance or safety problems Ensures the Departments compliance with Company safety rules and verifies the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) as required in fulfillment of assigned responsibilities Assists in plans to maintenance budget to meet facility needs and production goals Assists in planning and coordinating plant outages to minimize downtime and costs Reporting and Communication
Maintains inventory of tools and supplies to ensure the efficient operation of plant equipment; requisitions spare parts and contractor labor as needed Notifies the Maintenance Manager of potential safety hazards, equipment failures, operational inconsistencies and employee incidents Assists with CMMS Program development and implementation Inputs new equipment information into CMMS and develops PMs, spare parts list and list bill of materials Participates in Improvement Program and MOC Utilizes the CMMS preventive maintenance program to keep plant equipment running at peak efficiency Training and Coaching
Delivers job-related training to Maintenance staff to increase work efficiency and safety Uses occupational health and safety testing equipment (e.g., air monitors) in compliance with OSHA regulations Wears proper personal protective equipment as required Additional Responsibilities
Promote the completion of accurate and timely work orders Drive Company utility vehicles as necessary to perform tasks assigned by plant management, including responding to plant or staff emergencies and transporting parts, equipment, instruments, supplies and other materials Other duties as assigned Company Conformance Statements

High school diploma Valid driver’s license Preferred qualifications: Technical degree or trade/mechanical training related to the operation and maintenance of industrial equipment preferred Experience
Five (5) years of experience with welding, cutting, gearbox repair, pump alignment, material handling systems, preventive maintenance, and/or instrument and electrical work in an industrial processing facility or in a machine shop Must have a strong knowledge of effective preventative maintenance practices and procedures Knowledge and understanding of world class maintenance program Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Knowledge of electrical systems including Switch Gear, MCCs, PLCs, Ladder Logic, and Instrumentation Ability to perform all duties of position while maintaining regulatory safety requirements (OSHA, PSM, EPA, USDA, ISO 9000 and BQ-9000) Ability to read blueprints and plant diagrams, electrical and equipment schematics Ability to provide instruction with respect to computer control systems and machine operation/repair Ability to climb stairs and ladders, work at heights, manage confined space entry, and handle lifting of materials Mechanical aptitude, effective oral and written communication skills, basic math and PC skills Must be well organized, self-motivated and able to work effectively in a team Broad knowledge of maintaining plant equipment / industrial machinery Strong leadership skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficiency with MS Word and Excel Knowledge of Process Safety Management preferred Knowledge of regulatory requirements the facility operates under (OSHA, EPA, USDA) preferred Equipment Used
Production machinery and operating heavy equipment Electrical tools, shop equipment, welders, torches, hoists Testing equipment, hand tools, voltmeters, vibration analysis tools and precision measuring tools Working Conditions
Regular exposure to varying temperatures, gases, vapors, dust, odors and flammable liquids; occasional wet floors and high noise levels; heavy lifting required Regular stair climbing and extended walking/standing to access remote areas of the plant, heights and confined spaces Personal Protective Equipment required per Company standards and regulations Call-ins or extended hours may be necessary to complete time-sensitive projects, attend training or respond to emergencies Employee Supervision
