The Maintenance Planner/Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the development of a reliability based maintenance strategy, based on preventive and predictive maintenance, and will work with management to maximize the efficient utilization of CMMS/SAP systems. This position will generate and maintain parts and repair data into spreadsheets, perform cost analyses, and prepare budgetary reports. Additional responsibilities include maintaining an inventory control system, ordering parts and components, and keeping critical parts inventory within Min/Max levels. The role ensures compliance with all applicable company standards and government regulations. Responsibilities include planning and supervising maintenance staff performing repairs on operating equipment; scheduling predictive and preventive maintenance; holding regular meetings to plan, isolate, and repair equipment during scheduled downtime; planning and distributing daily work orders and checking spare parts inventory via SAP; maintaining equipment information, repair files and parts data for accuracy; tracking critical spare parts inventory; collecting and processing predictive/reliability data to schedule repairs; maintaining knowledge of SHE policies and ensuring adherence; providing required training for area, jobs and tasks; reporting unsafe conditions and incidents; conducting job/cost analyses, safety/risk analyses and preventative maintenance analyses; ensuring orderly shift changes and effective communication with operations staff and the Maintenance Manager; collecting and analyzing production data to optimize efficiencies and product quality; performing required inspection rounds and recording visual/mechanical conditions on shift; and participating in toolbox maintenance and safety meetings as required. Additional duties include assisting with plant start-ups and shut-downs and performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Experience At least 5 years of experience in maintenance planning and scheduling, including shut-downs and the creation of job plans for an industrial facility within the food or aggregate industries. Mechanical background. Experience with PC based maintenance programs and training technicians in their use. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience in welding, cutting, gearbox repair, pump alignment, material handling systems, preventative maintenance with exposure to instrument and electrical work in an industrial processing facility or machine shop with PM programs. Prior experience as a supervisor or lead in industrial maintenance; unionized environment experience preferred. Education & Certifications High School Diploma/GED Valid Driver’s license Valid TWIC card (or eligible/willing to obtain TWIC) Bachelor’s Degree, Vocational or Technical School related to maintaining industrial equipment (preferred) Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proficiency with CMMS software Ability to estimate labor hours and materials Knowledge of bulk conveying equipment and systems Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures and industrial machinery Knowledge of regulatory and safety requirements (OSHA, EPA, WISHA) Ability to operate computer control systems Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to direct operations/repairs Physical ability to stand/walk for extended periods, climb stairs/ladders, work at heights (up to 175 feet), manage confined space entry, lift up to 50 pounds Manage confined space entry, hot work, electrical tools and lockout/tagout permits Strong leadership skills Equipment & Working Conditions Vibration analysis and calibration tools; PPE usage as required; industrial machinery and grain elevator operating equipment; electrical testing tools Off-shift availability; extended hours during time-sensitive projects; night, weekend, and holiday work may be required; exposure to temperatures, chemicals, dust, noises Frequent visits to operation areas; some stair climbing; work above ground level What We Offer
