JR4467STV is seeking a Transit Rail Vehicle Engineering Specialist to join our Vehicles department to support of our clients in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virgina area.

This will include varying degrees of on-site and remote work with occasional travel needs as projects may require.**Responsibilities:*** Plan, organize, and develop engineering activities for the specification, construction, and maintenance of public transit rail vehicles, including high-speed, commuter, light-rail, and subway systems.* Prepare and adapt drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and reports to ensure compliance with industry standards and accepted engineering practices.* Support testing, design, and modification activities for vehicle systems and components, applying mechanical and/or electrical engineering principles.* Participate as a member of client support field teams, providing technical expertise and delivering project documentation and files.* Evaluate vendor capabilities, specify materials and equipment, and contribute recommendations for system improvements or design modifications.**Qualifications:*** Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline.* 3–7 years of relevant experience in rail vehicle design, maintenance, or system engineering.* Strong knowledge of transit vehicle systems, specifications, and industry standards.* Experience preparing technical specifications, calculations, and engineering reports.* Ability to collaborate across disciplines, apply sound engineering judgment, and develop innovative approaches to technical challenges.* Able to work independently and manage tasks and projects to drive desired outcomes.Compensation Range:$71,981.92 - $95,975.90STV offers the following benefits • Health insurance, including an option with a Health Savings Account • Dental insurance • Vision insurance • Flexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care and Transit and Parking where applicable) • Disability insurance • Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment • 401(k) Plan • Retirement Counseling • Employee Assistance Program • Paid Time Off (16 days) • Paid Holidays (8 days) • Back-Up Dependent Care (up to 10 days per year) • Parental Leave (up to 80 hours) • Continuing Education Program • Professional Licensure and Society MembershipsSTV is committed to paying all of its employees in a fair, equitable, and transparent manner.
