JR4478STV is seeking an entry-level **Civil Engineering Specialist (0–3 years of experience)** to join our **Transportation Group** in **Boston, MA**.This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and development of transportation infrastructure projects that shape how people move through our communities. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers on a wide range of roadway, rail, utility, and site development projects for public and private clients.### **Responsibilities**As a Civil Engineering Specialist, you will:* Support senior engineers and project managers on interdisciplinary design projects, including preparing design drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and reports.* Assist in the design of roadway and rail alignments, cross sections, grading, drainage systems (hydraulics and hydrology), utilities, and traffic control plans.* Participate in design/bid/build and permitting processes, coordinating with subconsultants, monitoring schedules and budgets, and ensuring quality standards are met.* Use design software such as **Bentley MicroStation**, **InRoads**, **AutoCAD Civil 3D**, and **AutoTurn** to produce high-quality deliverables.* Collaborate with internal technical disciplines and occasionally interface with clients, contractors, and agency representatives.### **Preferred Skills & Experience*** **Education:** Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.* **Experience:** 0–3 years of professional experience in transportation, roadway, or site design.* **Certifications:** Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.* **Technical Skills:**
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD or Bentley MicroStation, Microsoft Office Suite, and GIS.
+ Understanding of roadway/highway/rail design principles.
+ Knowledge of vertical and horizontal alignments, grading, drainage, stormwater design, and utility layout.
