Role summary: The Quality Engineer ensures that repair station activities are compliant with Customer, Regulatory, and Industry Certifications (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9000, and EASA).
Responsibilities
Performs on-site audits of poor performing vendors, as required
Performs on-site audits of new vendors, as required
Performs source inspections, as required
Responds to customer supplier surveys; researches customer specs to ensure compliance with NADCAP and AS9100
Provides oversight and assistance with Operations, Engineering and Purchasing in addressing vendor improvement requirements
Plans, develops and executes the audit schedule to assure that all appropriate aspects of AS9100 are being reviewed, and trains auditors
Supports the review and release of QMS procedures to assure compliance with AS9100
Ensures record retention requirements of audits and corrective actions are maintained in compliance with policies and regulations
Qualifications
Preferred Associates or Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of experience as Quality Engineer, Quality Analyst, or Quality Auditor in AS9100 environments
ASQ Certified Quality Auditor, AS9100 Lead Auditor, NADCAP Certified Auditor, Certified CQA or equivalent (preferred)
Thorough knowledge of FAA regulations, ISO 9001:2008, AS9100 and AS9110 Quality Management Standards
RAB QSA certified Lead Auditor preferred
Government and industry quality assurance codes and standards
MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
Ability to learn industry-related software and to read and interpret blueprints, process sheets, and regulatory requirements
Qualified to meet the requirements of 14 CFR 145 subpart D, paragraphs 145.155 (Inspection Personnel Requirements)
