CDE is responsible for the execution of a fleet portfolio that includes design solutions supporting risk reduction, equipment obsolescence, and plant modernization.**Job Responsibilities*** Develop the scope, technical basis, installation and testing requirements for engineering design changes, which include but are not limited to Stress Analysis, Structural Analysis, Dynamic/Seismic Analysis, Steel and Concrete Design.* Research engineering and design issues, evaluate alternatives, determines and presents recommendations to resolve issues.* Provide ongoing support for assigned engineering design changes through work order reviews, corrective action program assignments, and field installation support activities.* Develop or revise design/procurement specifications or technical requirements documents to support engineering design changes.* Develop or revise complex engineering calculations impacted by engineering design changes.* Develop licensing screens and evaluations that support engineering design changes.* Revise site design basis documents, design drawings, and regulatory documents impacted by engineering design changes.**Basic Qualifications*****\*\*\*This position can be hired as either an Engineer III or Senior Engineer depending on experience\*\*\*****Nuclear Engineer III** Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.* A Master 's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.* 4-6 years of engineering experience.* Minimum of 1 year of nuclear experience.*Sr Nuclear Engineer** Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.* A Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree.* Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience or 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer.* Minimum of 1 year of nuclear experience.**Preferred Qualifications*** Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.* Proficient in engineering theories and principles.* Proficient in principles of project management.* Experience in the utility industry.* State registration as a Professional Engineer.* Strong background in Mechanics of Materials* Experience performing Finite Element Analysis* Working Knowledge of Structural Analysis software (ANSYS, GTStrudl, or similar)* Experience with Dynamic/Seismic Structural Analysis* Working level knowledge of Stress Analysis software programs (SuperPipe, AutoPipe, Caesar II).* Working knowledge of ASME Codes (examples: B31.1, Section III, Section IX, Section XI), AISC Steel Construction Codes (ASD, LFRD, and ACI Concrete Design Code).* Familiarity with Solidworks or equivalent 3D modeling software.* Experience with nuclear industry standard design process.**Special Requirements*** In lieu of 1 year of nuclear experience, a selected candidate is subject to the oversight and written approval authority of a designated qualified individual until the selected candidate becomes fully qualified.* Able to achieve nuclear site Unescorted Access/Security clearance.* This position may be required to have Emergency Response Organization (ERO) responsibilities which could include callouts with a defined response time to the site and an on-call duty rotation requiring the employee to be Fit for Duty.*The incumbent must meet the minimum ANSI requirements for this position identified within the scope of Nuclear Operating Fleet Administrative Procedure AD-LS-ALL-0011, Confirmation of Regulatory Guide 1.8 Personnel Qualifications** 1 year of nuclear power plant experience* Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience* Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program* A Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.
