Job Responsibilities:
Develop and evaluate manufacturing methods. Use innovative and practical methods to make improvements in manufacturing methods that result in improved quality and increased productivity while maintaining a safe working environment. Design and document tooling designs on drawings that communicate tooling requirements to toolmakers. Perform research, design, and development of manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment. Use appropriate project management techniques to ensure tools, gauges, fixtures, equipment, routings, and the CNC programs are fully defined, documented, and implemented. Design, develop, test, or source and cost-justify various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods. Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design layouts of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for the purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards. Apply statistical methods to estimate manufacturing requirements and potential including machine capability studies, etc. Support 5-S efforts throughout the plant. Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of personal computers and related software, including MS Word, Excel, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor. CNC Programming experience is a plus. Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and lubrication systems. Experience setting up and operating state-of-the-art equipment. Well-versed in machine shop manufacturing processes and setups. Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Education and Experience:
BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. 3 to 5 years experience in Manufacturing Engineering. Benefits:
