Primary Purpose: "To ensure all tools are maintained through solid tooling systems and improvement processes to ensure measurable improvement to process capability and quality delivery of tooling to production while maintaining an overall departmental budget."

Education Requirements >High School Diploma or GED >Certified Toolmaker or 10 yrs experience in Tool and Die field

Experience Requirements >Five years of Tooling Supervision / Management >Five years stamping or related field >Five years Manufacturing

Training Requirements >TS-16949 / ISO14001 >Lean Manufacturing / JIT >Mistake Proofing / Problem Solving >Blueprint / GD&T >Project Management >Overhead Crane Certification

Skill Requirements >Five years tooling supervision experience. >Class A Tool and Die Maker. >Demonstrate strong leadership qualities. >Must be able to work with all levels of company management as well as customers & vendors. >Will posses the organizational skills to maintain company records in compliance with the Tooling Department and TS 16949 procedures. >Demonstrate a "hands on" approach. >Computer (PC) knowledge and experience acquired through an Assoc. Degree or a minimum of 4 years on the job experience. >Will have the ability to work a schedule that allows completion of the job on a daily basis. >2-D general design capability with AutoCAD, Unigraphics or similar. >Must possess strong in-press troubleshooting ability.

Principle Duties and/or Responsibilities >Must have the ability to be on the job during normal business hours. >Schedule and assist tool room staff to ensure that production tooling and related equipment is ready to meet customer requirements. >Expand tooling supply base to achieve adequate supply at reasonable pricing. >Prepare sample submissions and quaotes for engineering change requests. >Update, maintain, and monitor quality procedure systems. >Develop, maintain and implement employee training programs. >Work with production to ensure good quality parts.

Principle Duties and/or Responsibilities - continued >Establish quarterly goals and objectives with Operations Manager >Ensure around the clock tooling support for production during all production hours. >Be positive and enthusiastic. >Get messages across to NASG TNN that quality is #1 through actions and expectations. >Assist Quality in TS16949 Tooling management requirements. >Generate and maintain Tooling Variable Spending budget. >Implement and oversee Die Preventive Maintenance System. >Assist Operations Manager in setting annual capital spending requirements for Tooling Dept. >Develop Vendor relations for effective and economical spares inventory control. >Assist Engineering Manager whenever needed. >Direct Tool Engineering activities to promote continuous improvement. > Support Mistake Proofing activities to insure progress in die sensoring. >Make decisions on tooling repair to ensure timely and cost effective solutions. >Negotiate repair cost with outside shops. >Establish and maintain electronic tool crib with adequate spares inventory. >Quote and purchase die replacement details with outside vendors. >Update tooling prints as required.

>Safety -Ensure all employees follow the safety policy -Keep the work area clean -Follow all safety rules. -Follow the lockout/tagout procedure.

Physical Requirements >Standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching and lifting required daily >Must be able to lift 35 lbs multiple times throughout the day >Must be able to lift 75 lbs 3 - 4 times per day North American Stamping Group is a drug-free and smoke-free workplace.
