Responsibilities Under the direction of the Bureau Chief, the Assistant Bureau Chief (ABC) manages and administers the Licensing Section within the Bureau of Gambling Control. The ABC plans, organizes, directs, and administers the work of professional staff in each program area. Participates in the development of goals, policies, and regulations to effectively administer the Gambling Control Act and the Bureau's responsibilities under the Tribal-State Gaming Compacts. Oversees investigations related to the suitability of individuals seeking licensure pursuant to the Gambling Control Act and Tribal-State Compacts. Represents the Bureau on operational policy issues before the legislature, governmental agencies, top law enforcement administrators, representatives from the gaming industries and the public. Provides consultation, direction and supervision to Bureau management and prepares performance evaluations for managers, supervisors, professional, technical, and clerical staff. Monitors and makes recommendations relative to budget expenditures and preparation and plans and implements budget change proposals.
Qualifications
Eligibility for lateral transfer, reinstate, list or LEAP eligibility, and SROA and/or Surplus eligibility (please attach your letter, if available). SROA and Surplus candidates are given priority; therefore, individuals with other eligibility may be considered in the event no SROA or Surplus candidates apply.
