Location: 1401 South Cascade, Montrose, CO 81401, USA. Employment details : Earn $90,000 - $95,000 annually based on experience. Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am–5pm. NetSpend – Get paid early: tap into 50% of earnings before payday Ministry Program Role purpose : The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) assesses, plans, implements and coordinates the clinical care program in coordination with the Director of Nursing Services to ensure the highest quality of care. The ADON supervises day-to-day nursing activities in compliance with Federal, State, and local standards and regulations, mentors nursing staff, and acts as interim DON in the absence of the DON. Qualifications : Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; currently licensed as a Registered Nurse by the State Board of Nursing; current CPR certification. Minimum of two (2) years of nursing supervisory/management experience in a long-term care setting or equivalent. Other required skills and abilities include: gerontology, rehabilitative and medical-surgical nursing care; infection prevention and control; staff management; knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements for long-term care; familiarity with RAI process and clinical reimbursement (Medicare A, B & D) or willingness to learn; infection prevention and OSHA guidelines; QAA/QAPI theory and process; documentation and communication in long-term care; strong customer service focus; compliance awareness; effective communication across all levels; ability to handle stress; flexible hours; computer literacy for timekeeping and documentation. Essential functions : Nursing care functions : Directs day-to-day nursing staff activities, ensures compliance with applicable rules and guidelines, develops, maintains and updates policies and procedures, performs daily rounds, participates in surveys, plans department services, provides on-call coverage, and may oversee staff development, QAA/QAPI, Infection Prevention and Control, and MDS as directed by the DON. Care plan and assessment : Review resident care plans, authorize appropriate use of chemical restraints and devices as needed, monitor and assess residents. Committee functions : Participate in facility committees (e.g., Antibiotic Stewardship, Infection Prevention and Control, Quality Assurance, IDT, Risk Management, etc.). Personnel functions : Coordinate staffing, contribute to performance evaluations, conduct routine nursing staff meetings, administer fair disciplinary actions, complete required in-services and online modules. Staff development : Assist Education Director in identifying educational/training needs. Environment, safety & sanitation : Develop safety standards, monitor safety/compliance with equipment and supplies, implement procedures for safety and infection control, address odors/noise/toxic substances as needed. Organize and administer delivery of nursing and related services; analyze and improve care quality; resolve resident/family concerns; document and coordinate multidisciplinary care; collaborate with physicians and external consultants; conduct daily rounds; uphold nursing practice standards; foster positive staff relationships; implement changes in collaboration with the DON; respond to emergencies per policy; participate in interviews and disciplinary actions as needed; maintain knowledge of state and federal regulations; assume administrative authority in the DON’s absence. Non-essential functions : Support research projects related to nursing care; review level-of-care determinations for optimal reimbursement; assist staff development with training; serve as a consultant for nursing personnel; inform the DON of nursing needs.
