Overview
As a CT Technologist, you'll perform all Computed Tomography (CT) exams. You should be knowledgeable in the operation of equipment and the procedures/protocols for producing high quality images to furnish diagnostic information to radiologists. You will provide quality care for all patients and adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Education:
Graduate of an Accredited School for Radiologic Technologist, required. Licensure/Certification/Registry: ARRT, required. IEMA, required. CT Certification, preferred. BLS CPR certification, required. Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Working Conditions-Physical Requirements & Atmosphere: Functions effectively in a team-oriented environment. Demonstrates a positive attitude and strong customer service skills. Potential exposure to infectious diseases. Requires ability to lift over 50 pounds occasionally. Physical demands include repetitive motions of the hands, walking, standing, and reaching above the head. Physically able to perform the duties as stated above. Responsibilities

Reduce Waste
- I use time and resources wisely. I prevent defects and delays. Coordinate the patient flow and schedule of the CT modality via a team approach. Check the patients’ chart or scripts to ensure the exam ordered by the physician matches the requisition received by the department. Use independent professional judgment to assure the exam will clinically evaluate the given diagnosis. Refer discrepancies to the radiologist or ordering physician. Prepare the room, equipment, medication, and secure supplies needed to perform the exam while maintaining a clean and safe environment for the patient. Adhere to safety standards set forth by the organization in accordance with ACR guidelines (ALARA). Explain the procedure and the function of the equipment to the patient, answer any questions, and review the medical history, including medication lists and lab results, prior to starting the procedure. Check the patient record for previous pertinent information or procedures, contact the radiologist when direction is needed, and document appropriate information in the patient record/PACS system. Perform requested CT exams of appropriate regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of the organization and the reading radiologist. Observe the patient during the procedure, report unusual occurrences, and record the patient’s condition when necessary. Lift, move, and transport patients via wheelchair or cart when necessary. Maintain knowledge on the composition, storage, and administration of contrast media agents according to department protocols under guidance and approval of a physician. Transfer, maintain basic quality assurance issues, and recall images from the PACS system. Perform equipment quality checks and troubleshoot when appropriate. Report any need for service or repair to appropriate leadership. Participate in ongoing QA/QC and process improvement programs. Assist in providing a safe work environment and dedicate yourself to providing patient satisfaction. Maintain continuing education credits in compliance with licensing agency. Maintain clinical competency. Adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, those regarding infection control, hand hygiene, attendance, and appearance. Perform other related work as required or requested.
