Overview
BASIC PURPOSE : Musket Corporation is seeking a commercially focused Gasoline Trader to drive blending strategy and trading execution across the Gulf Coast and export markets. This is a high-impact role requiring an understanding of gasoline component economics, blending optimization, and market fundamentals to drive profitable trading strategies. This role is strategic, margin-driven, and sits at the intersection of spec compliance, component value arbitrage, and export opportunities. Major Responsibilities
Develop and execute gasoline blending strategies based on component valuations, spec requirements, and market conditions. Trade Gulf Coast gasoline grades and blend components, identifying dislocations and arbitrage opportunities. Analyze and act on price differentials across blendstocks, including alkylate, reformate, naphtha, butanes, ethanol, and RBOB/CBOB. Manage exposure to the USGC export market, optimizing flows into Latin America and other global destinations. Partner closely with analytics, chartering, scheduling, and commercial operations teams to evaluate blending economics and drive trade decisions. Monitor supply/demand dynamics, spec trends, regulatory developments (EPA, RINs), and regional crack spreads. Build and maintain strong relationships with refiners, traders, and blenders, driving collaboration across the value chain. Use market data and trading tools to inform forward curves, pricing decisions, and blend optimization models. Education and Experience
Education: High school Diploma or equivalent required Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field Experience: 5+ years of gasoline trading or blending experience , with strong knowledge of Gulf Coast market structure and specs. Experience trading or optimizing
CBOB, RBOB, and blend components
(alkylate, reformate, naphtha, etc.). Strong understanding of
product specs, blend economics, and market indices
(e.g., Platts, Argus). Exposure to
USGC exports
and international arbitrage flows. Commercial mindset with the ability to evaluate multiple variables (price, spec, timing, logistics) and make fast, informed trading decisions. Proficiency in Excel and analytics tools; familiarity with ETRM systems and blending models a plus. Skills and Physical Demands
Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office products suite, and ability to learn new software applications and computer programs. Build & sustain relationships using appropriate interpersonal skills and communication methods to build constructive relationships with customers, business units, service organizations and other stakeholders to meet shared goals and objectives. Contribute to the team’s success by demonstrating cooperation and collaboration while participating in a group or team environment.
