Summary The Manager - Vehicle Logistics Procurement position is responsible for leading procurement strategies, supplier development, and supply chain optimization to support the company’s vehicle transportation and port processing operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong operational expertise who can balance cost efficiency, compliance, and risk management while cultivating strong supplier and stakeholder relationships. The Manager will oversee the supplier base, negotiate contracts, and implement procurement standards across the organization. In addition, they will mentor staff, introduce process improvements, and leverage data analytics to ensure sustainable, efficient, and compliant supply chain operations. Duties include but not limited to; facilitating and developing cross-functional vendor management processes, analyzing cost data, develop negotiation opportunities, assisting in refinement and establishing performance goals and KPIs to measure savings and enable continuous improvement.
Compensation Compensation Range
$101,000 - $113,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)
Responsibilities
Oversee the current supplier base to ensure reliability, quality, and compliance with company standards while strategically developing and maturing new suppliers to support long-term business growth
This includes assessing vendor capabilities, conducting performance reviews, and identifying supply gaps that may impact vehicle transportation and port processing operations
Develop and implement sourcing and distribution strategies that align with business objectives, balancing cost efficiency with service reliability
This includes analyzing market trends, forecasting procurement needs, and ensuring business continuity through effective supplier partnerships
Establish and refine procurement policies, guidelines, and standardized procedures to drive operational consistency across departments
This involves evaluating existing processes, introducing best practices, and leveraging industry benchmarks to improve sourcing strategies, reduce cycle times, and increase compliance
Ensure all procurement activities are aligned with company ethics, policies, and industry regulations
This includes implementing risk assessment frameworks, monitoring supplier compliance, and mitigating potential disruptions that could affect the supply chain or financial stability of the business
Maximize the use of ERP and analytical tools to monitor purchasing trends, supplier performance, and inventory flow
Use data-driven insights to proactively manage risks, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure seamless procurement operations that support production and distribution needs
Lead complex vendor negotiations, ensuring that contract terms and pricing structures support both operational requirements and the company’s financial goals
Responsibilities include managing contract life-cycles, conducting cost-benefit analyses, and fostering mutually beneficial supplier relationships that enable long-term stability and innovation
Prepare and present procurement reports, key performance indicators, and strategic updates to leadership
Use performance data to highlight progress, identify challenges, and recommend solutions that drive procurement excellence and align with organizational goals
Lead projects aimed at reducing costs and optimizing margins through volume discounts, competitive bidding, and supplier consolidation strategies
Analyze bids and proposals to secure the best value while maintaining supplier quality and reliability
Oversee the preparation and management of procurement documentation, including RFx (Request for Proposal, Request for Quote, etc.), contracts, and purchase agreements. Ensure all documentation is accurate, compliant, and aligned with company policies and industry standards
Provide oversight, controls, and audits of supplier performance to ensure accountability and transparency
Act as the initial escalation point for contractual or performance-related disputes, working with leadership to resolve issues and maintain productive supplier relationships
Develop strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and strategic supply partners to align procurement objectives with broader business needs
Act as a liaison between leadership and the supply base to ensure clear communication and alignment of priorities
Manage the daily workload, performance, and growth of procurement staff
Mentor and train team members to enhance existing skills, adopt new technologies, and prepare for future leadership roles within the supply chain function
Ensure procurement initiatives are aligned across all operational teams by defining standardized practices and driving collaboration
Support corporate compliance efforts by ensuring technology adoption, policy adherence, and streamlined processes across business units

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong negotiations, procurement, and conflict resolution skills required
Demonstrated ability to coordinate and drive actions with cross-functional groups required
Working knowledge of contract management practices, tracking and managing data, contracts, and timelines required
Ability to manage multiple priorities and to adjust to meet business needs, project management, and preparing executive summary reports required
Individual must be a self-starter with ability to work with limited direction, initiator, and management skills required

Education & Experience
Bachelor\'s Degree Required Master\'s Degree Preferred
7 - 10 Years of Direct Experience Relating to Strategic Sourcing, Automotive, Project Mgmt., Contract Negotiations, Supply Chain Management, and/or Finance Required 8 - 13 Years of Direct Experience Preferred
Experience in Automotive Logistics, Contract Negotiation, and/or Business Development Preferred
3 Years of Indirect Experience Required 5 Years of Indirect Experience Preferred
4 - 7 Years of Supervisory Experience Required
