Job Description: Do you see fundraising as a way to build legacies and strengthen communities? UF Advancement is seeking a driven and relationship-focused Associate Director of Development to help shape the future of philanthropy at the Fredric G. Levin College of Law. Reporting to the Senior Director of Advancement, you will play a vital role in translating the college’s vision into real-world impact – building meaningful connections with alumni and friends, guiding major gift prospects ($100K+), and leading strategic fundraising initiatives that support legal education at its highest level. This is more than a fundraising position; it is a chance to be a storyteller, a connector, and a champion for the values that define the legal profession. If you thrive on building trust, inspiring generosity, and turning bold ideas into lasting legacies, this is your opportunity to grow your career while helping shape the future of law at UF.

Prospect Cultivation & Portfolio Management

Build a portfolio of fundraising prospects at the major gift levels ($100,000+) and strategically manage relationships through face-to-face visits to bring gift solicitations to closure.

Build and manage a robust relationship portfolio targeting small and mid-level gift donations that support the strategic goals of the College of Law.

Research, identify, and cultivate individual alumni and friends as prospective donors to the College of Law.

Qualify prospects by making contact with them, both virtually and in person, to evaluate their readiness to engage with the law school and their interest in making a gift.

Development Strategy & Operations

Collaborate with team members to create and implement annual fundraising initiatives that support the strategic goals of the law school including end-of-fiscal-year and end-of-calendar-year campaigns and other special fundraising activities created by the College of Law and the UF Foundation.

Provide support for fundraising efforts such as Gator Giving Day, Law Firm Giving Challenge, etc.

Create gift proposals, concept papers, and other documents used for soliciting restricted and unrestricted contributions to the College of Law.

Conduct regular statewide travel for the purposes of face-to-face prospect meetings and alumni events.

Stewardship Communications, Events, & Administration

Support College of Law and UF functions to help steward donors and move prospects through the gift continuum toward closure. Events include, but are not limited to, class reunions, alumni receptions, alumni board meetings, local and state bar conferences and bar exams, and other special occasions.

Develop and implement communication and engagement plans to keep prospects connected to the law school and informed about the vision, goals, and values of the College of Law, including its funding priorities and current giving opportunities.

Document all interactions with alumni and friends via electronic contact reports.

Steward gifts by completing thank you cards and other gift recognition with donors and prospects.

Participate in quarterly and annual reporting processes, self-evaluations, and other data tracking as required by the College of Law and the UF Foundation.
