Overview

Maintenance Supervisor - (252426) at Durham School Services. Responsible for overseeing maintenance operations for the facility, ensuring safety, compliance with applicable regulations, and effective collaboration with other local operations functions. Responsibilities

Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs within qualification level, including steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drivetrains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions and related components, in accordance with all relevant federal, state/provincial and local guidelines. Oversee and personally comply with the local implementation of maintenance and safety standard operating procedures; ensure staff follow them and comply with all local public authority regulations and standards. Oversee the local use of the EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) ERP application to record and track maintenance work orders and parts inventory, including personal use of the application. Oversee parts inventory maintained and used in the facility. Oversee and participate in preventive maintenance for vehicles serviced by the facility; oversee and participate in unscheduled repairs as needed. Represent the maintenance activity in interaction and coordination with driver care, route operations, and customer care. Supervise the maintenance staff at the facility. Exhibit ethical best practices and integrity; report suspicious or inappropriate behavior to their supervisor or manager. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

5 years of fleet supervisor experience in a diesel shop with heavy/medium duty fleets. Minimum of five years auto/truck or bus mechanical repair experience. Experience with compliance with local applicable DOT regulations for medium/heavy trucks. ASE Certification as a Master Automotive Technician and/or Master Truck Technician preferred. Must be computer proficient and have strong experience with computerized diagnostics. Ability to use good judgment and strong decision-making skills. Experience planning and scheduling maintenance repairs (daily, weekly, monthly). Experience supervising parts inventory management and purchasing; budget management experience preferred.
