Diagnoses malfunctions and performs vehicle repairs (e.g., adjust/test steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions and oil/temperature/gas regulating components; adjust/test/rebuild engines) within qualification level and in accordance with applicable laws and local guidelines. Test-drives vehicles to ensure the repair resolves the problem. Arrange for and obtain appropriate inspections and approvals of major repairs before the vehicle is released from maintenance facility. Maintain a safe, clean, productive and efficient work area in compliance with relevant guidelines and requirements. Identify and report any additional maintenance or repairs found necessary during assigned work, including work to be performed by higher qualification technicians. Record time spent, parts used and repairs/maintenance conducted on the appropriate form. Perform road calls and on-the-road repairs as assigned. Advise Lead Technician of unsafe maintenance conditions or practices and/or vehicle abuse. Demonstrate ethical practices and personal integrity; share concerns about suspicious or inappropriate behavior with a supervisor or manager. Other duties as assigned. Minimum of five years Med/Heavy truck fleet mechanic repair experience Diagnostic, Electrical, and AC skills are required Technical knowledge of major vehicle systems and diesel equipment Experience with diesel and gasoline systems Possess the recommended minimum hand tools for a Diesel Technician Ability to use good judgment and decision-making skills Valid applicable state license (CDL preferred) — Company offers a free training program for mechanics Benefits and Additional Information
