Overview

Location: Fremont, CA, USA. The Raxium Facility and Equipment team maintains a broad range of semiconductor/facility equipment and clean room infrastructure. We focus on understanding the relationship between semiconductor processing and its support equipment to troubleshoot problems, execute tasks, and collaborate on installing, modifying, maintaining, and repairing clean room and facility support equipment. We are seeking a Senior Equipment Engineer to support our microLED and AR development on the night shift, focusing on expert-level maintenance, support, and optimization of semiconductor processing equipment, including advanced vacuum systems related to CVD, ICP, and RIE. You will leverage experience to support installations, troubleshoot issues, implement preventive maintenance, and maximize the reliability and performance of our tool sets. Google's Raxium display group advances semiconductor materials display technology for AR and light-field display applications. We are a startup-oriented team with a state-of-the-art compound semiconductor fab in Silicon Valley seeking to disrupt next-generation display markets. Responsibilities

Lead, train, and mentor a team of technicians, managing daily schedules and prioritizing work to maximize tool uptime and reliability. Collaborate with engineering teams to support and manage equipment upgrades and new tool installations, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on semiconductor manufacturing equipment across process areas (e.g., vacuum, lithography, metrology, wet processing). Utilize technical expertise and diagnostic skills to resolve equipment issues and implement solutions, including using schematics, diagrams, and test equipment. Provide comprehensive support for critical semiconductor manufacturing equipment across various process areas, including vacuum, lithography, metrology, and wet processing. Maintain a focus on safety protocols and foster a collaborative, cross-functional work environment. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, a related technical field or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting semiconductor processing equipment (e.g., vacuum systems, wet etch, lithography, CMP). Experience with semiconductor equipment processes and automation systems (e.g., PLCs, robotics). Experience diagnosing and resolving hardware/software issues. Preferred qualifications

10 years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting a broad range of semiconductor processing equipment, including vacuum systems, wet etch, lithography, and CMP tools. 2 years of experience working as a technical lead with strong communication and collaboration skills. Experience with multiple semiconductor equipment types (e.g., vacuum, dry etch, PVD/CVD, wet etch, advanced lithography systems, high-volume metrology systems). Experience leading tool installations (including reading and interpreting cut sheets). Experience in AutoCAD design and demonstrated ability to lead teams. The compensation details listed in US role postings reflect base salary; bonus, equity, and benefits are separate. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000-$202,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Details vary by role, level, and location.
