Description
Coastal Medical Transportation is looking for a Procurement and Supply Chain Manager to assist in our growing operation! This role is key in ensuring a balance of quality service delivery with cost management, while also fostering strong relationships with suppliers and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Job Summary: The Procurement and Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing the sourcing, procurement, and logistics processes. This position will focus on controlling and reducing operational costs across the enterprise, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of goods and services, and developing strategic vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in supply chain management, contract negotiation, and cost control, with a proven ability to implement policies and procedures to streamline operations while maintaining high service levels. Key Responsibilities: Procurement Strategy Development: Develop and implement procurement strategies to manage and control the supply chain, with a focus on reducing costs and optimizing operational efficiency across all departments. Monitor industry trends and conduct market research to identify cost effective purchasing opportunities. Cost Control and Reduction: Identify opportunities to reduce supply chain costs while maintaining quality and service standards. Analyze existing contracts and purchasing practices to recommend cost saving initiatives. Implement cost-saving initiatives by leveraging bulk purchasing, preferred vendor agreements, and group buying programs. Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure reliability, quality, and competitive pricing. Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and service level agreements (SLAs) with suppliers and ensure adherence to these terms. Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to delivery schedules, quality of goods, or other contract-related concerns. Process Improvement and Policy Implementation: Establish, document, and enforce procurement and supply chain procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry best practices. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall service levels. Inventory Management: Collaborate with relevant departments to maintain optimal inventory levels for medical equipment, supplies, and other resources. Work to minimize inventory holding costs while ensuring the availability of critical supplies needed for operations. Budget and Financial Reporting: Manage procurement budgets and develop forecasts for purchasing and supply chain costs. Provide regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance to senior leadership. Collaboration and Cross-Functional Support: Work closely with other departments such as Operations, Finance, and Fleet Management to ensure the efficient flow of materials and supplies across the organization. Coordinate the purchase and delivery of ambulance-related supplies and equipment to ensure smooth operations. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all procurement activities comply with industry regulations, including healthcare and transportation-specific standards. Monitor compliance with environmental and sustainability guidelines, ensuring that procurement practices align with company values and legal requirements. Qualifications
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. 5+ years of experience in procurement and supply chain management, preferably in the healthcare, ambulance, or transportation sectors. Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, contract negotiation, and vendor management. Experience with cost control, inventory management, and implementing supply chain optimization strategies. Proficiency in procurement software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Preferred Skills: Experience with group buying programs and leveraging vendor networks. Knowledge of supply chain management software such as SAP, Oracle, or similar systems. Certifications in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) are a plus.
