The Position Our bank client is seeking multiple SBA Business Development Officer / Lender roles in the Tampa, FL market. The successful candidate will develop, solicit, and promote the SBA Lending Line of Business, ensuring responsive service delivery tailored to market needs while maintaining consistent performance across the footprint. The role involves a consultative approach with bankers and customers to provide customer-driven, high-quality credit solutions.

The position offers a salary up to $80K, a comprehensive benefits package, and bonus eligibility.

Responsibilities

Generate new business through prospecting, outside calling, networking, and referrals, including extensive automobile travel for in-person meetings.

Foster new and expand existing customer relationships via cross-selling of products and services.

Develop and maintain a referral source database for local and bank-wide SBA marketing efforts.

Ensure accurate and complete loan application submissions by understanding the bank’s credit policy, SBA eligibility, and business practices.

Participate in local SBA district functions within the marketing area.

Provide management with feedback on policies and practices.

Promote all product lines offered in the assigned market.

Generate loans that meet performance standards and assist with servicing actions as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Travel approximately 50% locally.

Candidate Profile We are looking for someone eager to influence their own development, seeking an opportunity to pursue their passions beyond a job title. The ideal candidate will have:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.

At least 5 years of successful commercial lending experience.

An average production of at least $10 million in SBA/USDA loans over the past two years.

Thorough knowledge of SBA lending rules, regulations, and practices.

Effective relationship management skills with individuals and groups.

Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.

Proficiency in Word and Excel.

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
