The Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Klein Alzheimer’s Research Center is New Jersey’s first center dedicated solely to advancing Alzheimer’s and dementia research. Our mission is to lead the way in finding solutions to prevent and treat this devastating disease and to translate groundbreaking research into real-world impact. This position is a Postdoctoral Research Associate – Cognitive Aging and Minority Health, working with a multidisciplinary research team focused on cognitive aging and health disparities among minority populations, including Native American populations, individuals with Down syndrome, and minoritized aging cohorts. The postdoc will contribute to research at the intersection of neurodegeneration, cognition, vascular risk factors and diabetes. The successful candidate will work closely with the PI and a team of neuropsychologists, neurologists and cognitive neuroscientists from the Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Alzheimer’s Research Center. Salary and Benefits

Salary: A maximum of $65,000 is budgeted for this position. Responsibilities

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will join a multidisciplinary research team and will: Investigate the interplay between longitudinal cognitive outcomes and metabolic and vascular risk factors. Collaborate with the PI and a team of neuropsychologists, neurologists and cognitive neuroscientists. Participate in lab meetings and research-in-progress seminars; present at conferences. Prepare manuscripts based on their research and assist in developing the PI’s grant applications. Apply for personal grant funding. This position provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of neurodegeneration, cognition, vascular risk factors and diabetes, with a focus on underrepresented groups.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience PhD or MD in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, Public Health, or related discipline. Demonstrated experience working with minority aging populations. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficiency in statistical programming (e.g., R, Python) for data analysis and visualization. Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills. Oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate research findings to both academic and non-academic audiences. Proficiency with standard office and data tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, reference managers, etc.). Ability to work collaboratively and independently. Must have at least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed journal. Preferred Qualifications Specific experience with Native American communities, individuals with Down syndrome, or populations at risk for diabetes is desirable. Experience working with neuroimaging is desirable.
