Overview
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will join a multidisciplinary research team focused on cognitive aging and health disparities among minority populations. This position provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of neurodegeneration, cognition, vascular risk factors and diabetes, with a focus on underrepresented groups including Native American populations, individuals with Down syndrome, and minoritized aging cohorts. The postdoc will join the Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Alzheimer's Research Center. The successful candidate will work closely with the PI and a team of neuropsychologists, neurologists and cognitive neuroscientists from the Krieger Alzheimer's Research Center. The role involves contributing to ongoing and developing studies that examine the interplay between longitudinal cognitive outcomes and metabolic and vascular risk factors. The candidate will participate in lab activities, manuscript preparation, grant development support, and opportunities to apply for personal grant funding. Responsibilities
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to advance research on cognitive aging and health disparities. Contribute to ongoing and developing studies examining longitudinal cognitive outcomes in relation to metabolic and vascular risk factors. Participate in lab meetings, research-in-progress seminars, and conference presentations. Prepare manuscripts based on research findings and assist in developing grant applications for the PI; pursue personal grant funding opportunities. Collaborate with neuropsychologists, neurologists, and cognitive neuroscientists at the Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Alzheimer\'s Research Center. Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience: PhD or MD in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, Public Health, or related discipline; demonstrated experience working with minority aging populations. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficiency in statistical programming (e.g., R, Python) for data analysis and visualization; strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills; excellent oral and written communication abilities for diverse audiences; proficiency with standard office and data tools; ability to work both collaboratively and independently; must have at least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed journal. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Native American communities, individuals with Down syndrome, or populations at risk for diabetes; experience with neuroimaging is desirable. Position Details
