The Opportunity Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Engineer to join our team in dynamics. The Lead Engineer will combine both theoretical and practical knowledge supporting all of the various groups at Williams International with engine and component level dynamic design and tests. The Lead Engineer will perform analyses, write and review test plans, select and work with dynamics instrumentation and data acquisition systems, be in the test cell monitoring and troubleshooting tests, and reduce, analyze, and document test data and results. This role is for both structural and rotor dynamics.
The Lead Engineer will also be responsible for:
Review and interpret vibration and shock related FAA regulations and customer requirements
Perform rotor dynamic and structural dynamic analyses using finite element-based solvers
Plan and execute dynamic testing including writing and reviewing test directives, instrumentation selection and installation, and supporting engine and component-level tests
Analyze shock, vibration, and acoustic test data using dynamics principles, and derive conclusions to inform engine and component design
Communicate test results and findings to stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field required
4 + years of experience in dynamics engineering
Solid foundation in principles of dynamics (vibration), mechanical behavior of materials, differential equations, linear algebra, and statistics
Familiarity with finite element analyses, data acquisition methods, and signal processing techniques
Experience and interest in hands‑on testing and data processing
Proficient in Excel and MATLAB or similar language, including the ability to write and execute macros and scripts
Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to follow projects from concept to completion
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-sufficient with the ability to work well within a team with minimal oversight and can prioritize multiple tasks
U. S. Citizenship is required
Position requires the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Security Clearance, if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U. S.
