Fairview is looking for a Histology Technician at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - West Bank. Responsibilities
Fulltime (1.0 FTE or 80 hours/2 weeks) Night shift position with 8-hour shifts Hourly shift differential paid for all worked hours Shift incentive bonus of up to $2,000, paid out every 6 months Sign On Bonus of up to $3,000 (amount pro-rated based on FTE) At Fairview our Histology Technicians work as part of a diverse team to produce high quality slides for microscopic evaluation. Our team members rotate through embedding, microtomy, routine hematoxylin and eosin staining, special stains, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and whole slide imaging. We serve a diverse patient population including pediatric and transplant patients and work with a variety of tissue types including kidney, liver, prostate, and GI biopsies, bone marrows, cell blocks, dermatology specimens, and routine surgical cases. Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college/university in a related laboratory field including the related lab practicum or equivalent routes as specified in CLIA’88 Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college/university with combination of 30 semester hours in biology or chemistry AND completion of a NAACLS accredited histotechnician or histotechnologist program. Transcript must be provided. or Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college/university with a combination of 30 semester hours in biology and chemistry (must include credit hours in both). Transcript must be provided. or Completion of a 50-week U.S. military histotechnician training course and a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college/university with a combination of 30 semester hours in biology and chemistry (must include credit hours in both). Transcript must be provided. 1 year clinical experience in a histopathology laboratory is required if applicant has not completed a NAACLS accredited histotechnician or histotechnologist program or U.S. military histotechnician training course Demonstrates the ability to work under stress in a variety of situations Ability to exercise independent judgment Demonstrates manual dexterity Applicant should possess or be eligible to receive appropriate HHS approved laboratory certification. ASCP - HTL (Histotechnologist) within 1 Year Preferred Qualifications
