Position Overview:
The Manager, Retail Operations (Assistant GM) is responsible for assisting the General Manager in interfacing, consulting with qualified patients and caregivers, and administering approved medical marijuana products. The Manager oversees all activities related to the operation of the Dispensing Facility, including patient identification and registration, record retention, product tracking, and inventory control, as directed by the Area General Manager. This position is located in our Medicine Man dispensary in Thornton, CO.
Major Areas of Responsibility include:
The Manager ensures compliance with all Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Pilot Program rules and regulations, supervising dispensary staff training and education in the absence of the General Manager.
Provides management and leadership in the Dispensing Facility, including monitoring all point of sale transactions.
Manages patient-specific logs, inventory receipt, storage, auditing, and ordering, maintaining accurate records using BioTrackTHC software.
Resolves inventory discrepancies and patient-staff conflicts.
Develops privacy policies and procedures, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of patient information.
Acts as a liaison internally with staff, management, and externally with law enforcement, health authorities, and the community.
Monitors department managers to achieve operational goals, ensuring safety and quality assurance, including detecting and preventing dispensing errors.
Manages policies for retesting, storage, disposal, adverse event reporting, and product recalls.
Assists with security systems related to product tracking, record-keeping, and surveillance.
Fosters a positive company culture emphasizing quality, teamwork, and performance.
Implements HR policies, manages compliance, conducts investigations, and handles employee relations issues.
Conducts performance reviews, develops training programs, and manages talent acquisition.
Develops and maintains employee motivation programs, manages facilities, and oversees communication and change management.
Ensures employee safety, wellness, and health programs.
Minimum Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge & Abilities):
Must be at least 21 years old.
Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of management experience, including employee relations and talent management.
3 years of retail operation management experience, including HR responsibilities.
Passion for retail operations, staffing, compliance, inventory, and product security.
Leadership skills in a high-growth environment, operations management experience, and excellent consulting and conflict management skills.
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, business acumen, and communication skills.
Ability to develop relationships with senior executives, prepare reports, and resolve complex issues.
Capable of organizing, prioritizing, and making sound decisions.
