We are seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Packaging Engineer to design, develop, and optimize packaging solutions that ensure product protection, efficiency, and sustainability throughout the supply chain. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background in materials, manufacturing processes, and design principles, combined with creativity and a passion for continuous improvement.

Position Responsibilities Packaging Design & Development

Develop and test packaging concepts that meet functional, aesthetic, and cost requirements.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Manufacturing, and Quality to ensure packaging meets all specifications and regulatory standards.

Utilize CAD software and modeling tools to design and validate packaging structures.

Process Improvement & Optimization

Identify opportunities to improve packaging efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance sustainability.

Evaluate and implement new materials, technologies, and automation to streamline packaging operations.

Conduct root-cause analysis and lead corrective actions to resolve packaging-related issues. Quality & Compliance

Ensure packaging designs comply with company standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations.

Oversee testing and validation for durability, performance, and transport safety.

Maintain thorough documentation and specifications for all packaging components.

Vendor & Cost Management

Work closely with suppliers to source materials and manage packaging development timelines.

Negotiate with vendors to balance cost, quality, and performance objectives.

Support continuous cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality.

Prerequisites

Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in packaging design, testing, or manufacturing within consumer goods, food & beverage, or industrial sectors.

Proficiency with CAD software and packaging design tools.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)

Certified Packaging Professional (CPP)

Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Manufacturing Certification

ISTA Packaging Testing Certification

What the Role Offers

Salary Range: $80,000.00 – $105,000.00
