We are seeking a
Packaging Engineer
to lead the design, development, and optimization of packaging systems across all facilities. This role ensures packaging solutions are cost-effective, compliant, functional, and aligned with our quality standards. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on technical expertise and cross-functional collaboration to drive continuous improvement across materials, logistics, and customer compliance. Packaging Design & Development Create and develop packaging designs using
CAD software , tailored to specific product requirements including size, weight, fragility, and shipping conditions. Collaborate with Technology and Project Management teams to support the
launch of new products and packaging systems , including labels and customer-specific needs. Interpret customer label specifications and work with IT and project teams to ensure proper implementation in production. Material Selection & Testing Select appropriate materials (e.g., cardboard, plastic, metal) based on product needs, durability, cost, and sustainability. Conduct
performance testing
(drop tests, vibration, environmental testing) to validate packaging effectiveness. Analyze packaging-related costs and drive
efficiency improvements
without compromising product protection. Monitor
packaging return rates
by customer to ensure contractual obligations are met. Lead initiatives to reduce waste, streamline logistics, and optimize the flow of materials between suppliers, plants, and customers. Cross-Functional Collaboration Coordinate with manufacturing, supply chain, marketing, and quality teams to align packaging with broader business objectives. Act as the
corporate point of contact
for packaging engineering, sourcing, and cost analysis across all locations. Ensure packaging complies with
regulatory standards
and environmental guidelines. Partner with the Quality team to conduct
supplier audits , develop SCARs, and maintain supplier compliance with quality standards. Drive
continuous improvement projects
related to inventory management, packaging cost reduction, damage mitigation, electronic tracking, and labeling. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Packaging Engineering
(Required) 4+ years of experience
in packaging design, development, or engineering Proficiency in
CAD software
