Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a

Principal / Sr. Principal Material Process Engineer . This position is located in

Huntsville, AL

or

Manhattan Beach, CA

and supports the Sentinel program. Responsibilities

Work with design engineers in the selection and application of non-metallic materials systems, including environmental coatings, adhesives, sealants, composite materials, and supporting hardware. Create Material, Process, and Component Specifications or Source Control Documents to meet Program Requirements. Lead and conduct qualifications of new materials/components, processes, and aging studies to meet program service life. Collaborate with manufacturing and subcontractors to resolve qualification, producibility, and test issues related to non-metallic parts. Manage Bill-of-Materials, new part requests, part objects, and attributes in a Product Lifecycle Management System. Support Supply Chain with procurement requirements, supplier selection, and related issues. Tailor and allocate non-metallic requirements to system, subsystem, and unit level specifications. Assist Program Subcontractors with non-metallic part requirements and review of Data Requirements Lists (SDRLs). Benefits

This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. Qualifications

For Principal Material Process Engineer (Level T03):

Bachelor's degree in STEM from an accredited university and 5 years of experience, or 3 years with a Master’s, or 4 years with a PhD. For Sr. Principal Material Process Engineer (Level T04):

Bachelor's degree in STEM and 8 years of experience, or 6 years with a Master’s, or 4 years with a PhD. Common Requirements:

US Citizenship with an active DoD Secret Clearance (current within the last 6 years). Ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in materials testing, qualification, and manufacturing processes. Development of component data/drawings and application of parts to meet objectives. Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with accelerated aging methodologies like Arrhenius. Knowledge of MIL standards related to missile programs and aerospace systems. Experience with failure analysis and space application specifications. Active DOD Top-Secret clearance. Salary Range

Range 1: $95,800 - $150,500 Range 2: $119,200 - $187,300 Salary offers depend on experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Additional compensation may include overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, and long-term incentives. Application Process
