About this unit:

6 North is a 38-bed Cardiovascular unit specializing in caring for adult patients with Heart Failure, cardiac dysrhythmias, newly implanted pacemakers and defibrillators, pulmonary hypertension, and other cardiac conditions requiring medical treatment. Most patients receive continuous telemetry monitoring. Scope of Work

Nurse Technicians are team members responsible for delivering quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization, and acting as safety attendants for patients. They articulate the nursing technician role to patients, families, and healthcare team members, supporting safe, quality, and cost-effective patient care. They also clean patient environments, work areas, and equipment, reporting malfunctions to appropriate personnel. Demonstrating high moral and ethical standards, they advocate for patient, staff, and organizational privacy, confidentiality, and security. Orientation

Orientation weeks require flexibility for training during weekdays in August: Week 1: Classroom orientation, 8am-4:30pm, Monday to Wednesday. Week 2: Orientation shifts on the Nursing Unit, 7am-7:30pm. Week 3: Classroom orientation for Advanced Safety Care, Monday 8:00am-4:30pm. Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days Benefits
