Senior Rotational Physiotherapist Closing date: 22 October 2025 We are seeking a motivated and experienced physiotherapist to join our Band 6 rotational programme at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. This is a permanent, full-time position, with Worcestershire Royal Hospital as the official base. The successful candidate will rotate across all three Trust sites and may include some community rotations. This is an excellent opportunity for an established Band 6 looking for a fresh challenge or a suitably experienced Band 5 ready to take the next step in their career. The rotational offer provides a broad range of clinical experience and development opportunities across areas such as respiratory care (including ITU, head & neck, NIV), Orthopaedics, A&E, acute stroke and Neurology, Neurological outpatients, Community Neurology, Frailty, Oncology, Pelvic health, Rheumatology and hydrotherapy, COPD with support to the virtual ward, Paediatrics. You will benefit from regular supervision, in-service training, and access to specialist clinicians to help develop your clinical and leadership skills. We are committed to your professional development and will encourage ongoing CPD and contribution to the education and supervision of junior staff. There is a requirement to participate in our on-call service, as well as weekend and 7-day working rotas, depending on the rotation. Main duties of the job

Working as an autonomous practitioner, to provide high quality patient‑focused care through assessment, diagnosis, development and delivery of individual treatment programmes. Take responsibility for your own caseload within a defined area of service or for a particular patient type. Provide supervision, support and education to qualified and unqualified staff and students. Participate in departmental audit in support of evidence‑based practice. Communicate with the MDT to provide comprehensive assessment to determine admission prevention as appropriate to the given specialty. Undertake outpatient activity within area of specialty. Contribute to the 7‑day service on a rota basis dependent on specialty of work. Complete on‑call over a 24‑hour period and weekend working as appropriate to specialty. About us

Be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of practice, including management of patients receiving treatment. Undertake clinical assessment, including risk analysis, of patients with simple to complex multi-pathologies. Apply knowledge from a wide range of specialties (e.g. respiratory, neurology, musculoskeletal, care of the elderly) underpinned by evidence. Use advanced clinical reasoning and manual assessment techniques to establish diagnosis. Formulate individual treatment programmes based on evidence of best practice. Deliver a range of interventions (e.g. mobility, motor relearning, manual therapy, respiratory techniques, NIV, exercise therapy, hydrotherapy, electrotherapy) as appropriate to the specialty. Regularly evaluate treatment effectiveness and adjust plans. Maintain comprehensive treatment records with valid consent. Ensure patient confidentiality. Be an active participant in evening and weekend On Call Service (rota depending on specialty). Lead patient classes (e.g. cardiac rehabilitation, knee groups, rheumatology classes) as appropriate. Communications:

Assess capacity and gain valid consent; work within legal frameworks for patients lacking capacity. Communicate effectively with patients to maximise rehabilitation potential. Write clear notes and discharge summaries; liaise with MDT, senior staff, medical/nursing teams, and other health professionals. Produce discharge summaries/progress reports to GPs or other referring professionals as appropriate. Education and Training: Be appraised by the Team Lead Physiotherapist; maintain own CPD and knowledge; participate in mandatory training; demonstrate governance in practice; support research, audit, and service development; deliver training and supervision to juniors and students; adhere to local policy. Organisation and Management: Prioritise and manage own workload and supervise staff; ensure safe environment and safe use of equipment; provide regular reports to the Team Lead; comply with National, Professional, Trust and Departmental policies. Professional: Maintain HPC registration and CPD; work within CSP standards; engage in self-directed learning and reflective practice; assist with research and audit. Person Specification
